The Steins;Gate Animation 15th Anniversary Exhibition opens at AKIBA_SQUARE on the second floor of Akihabara UDX from July 17 to August 2, 2026. Tickets cost 2,500 yen and require advance reservation through Lawson Ticket, with sales having opened on June 13 at 10:00. The exhibition celebrates one of the most beloved time-travel anime series, built around the Future Gadget Laboratory that serves as the show central setting.

Steins;Gate originally aired in 2011 and remains a cornerstone of the science adventure visual novel and anime franchise. The 15th anniversary exhibition recreates key locations and props from the series, including the PhoneWave (name subject to change), the gel bananas that play a pivotal plot role, and memorable scenes reproduced as photo spots. Setting materials and production art from the animation are displayed alongside interactive elements designed for fans to immerse themselves in the world of Okabe Rintaro and the lab members.

Future Gadget Laboratory Displays

The exhibition is structured around the Future Gadget Laboratory, the cramped Akihabara apartment where the main characters conduct their experiments. Displays include replicas of the PhoneWave device, the gel banana specimens, and the divergence meter that tracks timeline changes. Setting materials from the original production show how the anime adapted the visual novel character designs and world.

Photo spots recreate iconic scenes, including the rooftop where Okabe makes his dramatic phone calls and the Akihabara street corners that appear throughout the series. The exhibition also features a section dedicated to the various Future Gadget inventions, each with its own ridiculous name and questionable functionality, that the lab members create throughout the story.

Admission Bonuses and Ticketing

Every visitor receives admission bonuses included with the ticket price. The Lab Member Badge sticker set features the main cast and is distributed at entry. A photo-screen-style card is also included, randomly distributed from a set of designs featuring different characters and scenes. Opening day, weekends, holidays, and the final day require date-and-time-specified tickets, meaning you must book a particular time slot. Weekday admission is more flexible, with general weekday tickets accepted at any time during operating hours.

Tickets are sold exclusively through Lawson Ticket, the Loppi convenience store ticketing system. Given the enduring popularity of Steins;Gate and the relatively short 17-day run, advance booking is strongly recommended. The exhibition venue, AKIBA_SQUARE, is a dedicated event space on the second floor of Akihabara UDX, the large office and retail complex directly connected to Akihabara Station. The space regularly hosts anime exhibitions, idol events, and pop-up shops, making it a central hub for Akihabara cultural events.
