Long-established maid cafe chain serving homemade omurice, cakes and drinks with cheerful, no-cover-charge hospitality.
Long-established maid cafe chain serving homemade omurice, cakes and drinks with cheerful, no-cover-charge hospitality.
HoneyHoney is a long-established maid cafe chain that opened its first branch in Yokohama in 2006 before expanding to Akihabara, Omiya, Ikebukuro and Naka-no. The Akihabara branch sits on the second floor of the Isamiya No.8 Building in Sotokanda, where cheerful maids welcome masters and ladies into a bright, homey space. The kitchen prides itself on handmade food and drinks, with the Honey Omelette Rice - decorated with ketchup art at the table - standing in as the signature order, alongside a full cast of cakes, curries, doria and pastas. Pricing is unusually friendly for a maid cafe: lunch dishes start from 899 yen, soft drinks from 499 yen, and during cafe time there is no cover charge, so guests pay only for what they order, much like a normal coffee shop. After 17:00 a 399 yen table charge kicks in for dinner time, but the menu remains reasonable, and the chain runs a popular point-card system that unlocks discounts and cheki photo opportunities with the cast. A wide range of alcohol - including whisky from Yamazaki and Hakushu - keeps the evening crowd happy. For first-timers curious about maid cafe culture without the intimidating price tag, HoneyHoney is one of the gentlest entries in Akihabara. Drop in for an omurice, a ketchup doodle and a warm welcome home.Based on 309 Google reviews
