Kyu-ie, written in kanji as 邱家, is a Chinese izakaya on Shouheibashi-dori, just a few minutes walk from Suehirocho and Akihabara stations. Opened in November 2022, the kitchen is best known for its signature ishi-nabe mapo tofu served bubbling in a hot stone bowl, with a heat level you can dial up to taste. Handmade gyoza with crisp skins and a juicy filling are another signature, alongside a wide roster of Sichuan-leaning dishes.\n\nThe menu also runs to ebi chili sauce, sweet-and-sour pork, horumon-ni, nikuman-style steamed buns and a long list of noodle dishes, including a chewy knife-cut toshomen in soup or soupless dandan style. Lunch sets start under 1,000 yen, while dinner brings an all-you-can-eat and all-you-can-drink course with around 100 dishes for groups of four or more. The room seats 43 across box tables and round tables, with private rooms available for parties.\n\nIf you are craving reliable, well-priced Chinese in central Akihabara, Kyu-ie ticks the boxes. Walk in for lunch, or gather a group for a lively dinner with beer and shaoxing wine.Operating Hours

Spicy Tofu Stew in Stone Bowl
A close-up of a steaming bowl of spicy tofu stew, likely Mapo Tofu or similar Korean-style dish, served in a black stone pot on a wooden board. The red broth contains chunks of tofu, minced meat, and is garnished with shredded cabbage and green onions.
