Liberty's original basement figure and toy store, a 40-year Akihabara institution.

Liberty Akihabara first store is the original branch of the Liberty figure-and-toy chain, in the basement of the Ekou Building in Sotokanda 3-chome, a short walk from Akihabara Station.

Founded in 1984, Liberty now runs six stores across Akihabara, and this compact first shop is packed with second-hand toys, figures, manga and video games at discount prices. Opening hours run daily from 11:00 to 20:30, and tax-free shopping is available for overseas visitors.

If you want to start a serious figure hunt in Akihabara, this long-running basement store is a classic first stop.
