About This Event / イベントについて
Comic Market (Comiket) is Japan's largest doujinshi and self-published art convention — and 2026 marks its 50th anniversary. Held at Tokyo Big Sight over two days in August, the event draws hundreds of thousands of creators, cosplayers, and fans.
While the convention itself is at Tokyo Big Sight (not in Akihabara), the district is deeply connected: many Akihabara shops operate 24 hours during Comiket weekend, release exclusive merchandise, and host related pop-ups. It's the single biggest weekend of the year for Akihabara's doujinshi and anime-goods economy.
