About This Event / イベントについて
Comic Market 109 — the winter edition of Japan's largest doujinshi convention — runs for three days from December 29–31 at Tokyo Big Sight. It's the year-end counterpart to the summer C108, capping off the otaku calendar.
During C109, many Akihabara doujinshi shops — including Melonbooks, Toranoana, and others — operate 24 hours a day, releasing exclusive year-end merchandise. New Year's Eve in Akihabara is a unique experience: the convention by day, 24-hour doujin shopping by night, and hatsumode at Kanda Myojin at midnight.
