Yasukuni Shrine holds its Autumn Grand Festival over four days in mid-October. The ceremony begins on October 17 with purification and a special festival, followed by the main festival on October 18 — attended by an imperial envoy — and continuation ceremonies on October 19–20.
The festival period features a tea ceremony dedication (kensekishiki), kyudo archery (sojushiki), and performing arts. A 15-minute walk from Akihabara, this is the shrine's second grand festival of the year — a quieter, more solemn counterpart to the cherry blossom festivities of spring.
