Himuka Shokudo is a small chicken nanban specialist on Sotokanda's central Chuo-dori, one minute from Suehirocho station and seven from Akihabara. The owner hails from Miyazaki, the prefecture credited with inventing chicken nanban, and the menu is deliberately short - just three variations of the dish. Each is prepared using Miyazaki cooking methods to recreate the original flavour. Lunch runs from 11:30 to 14:30, with dinner service from 18:00 to 20:30, and the restaurant closes only over the New Year period. The simple interior suits solo diners and quick lunches, with English information available on the website for international visitors. The focused menu keeps service fast and quality consistent. For an authentic taste of Miyazaki in Tokyo, Himuka Shokudo is a worthwhile detour from the usual Akihabara dining circuit. The owner's hometown pride shows in every plate.
