Torarenbo 秋葉原

Located on the 9th floor of BiTO AKIBA Plaza, just one minute from Akihabara Station, Torarenbo is an izakaya specialising in genshi-yaki - a primitive charcoal grilling method where fish, vegetables and meat are seared skin-side over direct flame. The chefs work at an open counter, allowing diners to watch the craftsmanship as seasonal seafood is gently toasted with binchotan charcoal. A carefully chosen range of sake from across Japan completes the experience. The menu changes with the seasons and includes charcoal-seared mackerel sushi, seared octopus with kelp, and grilled silver cod with Kyoto-style seasoning. Weekday lunches feature an all-you-can-eat tai-meshi (sea bream rice) with a choice of main, available by reservation. Private rooms seat from two to twelve, while larger groups can charter the space for up to thirty guests. With its warm Japanese interior and night views through glass walls, Torarenbo offers a refined but relaxed setting for business dinners, gatherings with friends or a quiet solo meal at the counter. It is a calm retreat from the buzz of Electric Town below.
