About This Event / イベントについて
Yasukuni Shrine, about a 15-minute walk from Akihabara, is home to the cherry tree that the Japan Meteorological Agency uses as the reference for declaring Tokyo's official cherry blossom season. When this tree blooms, spring has begun.
The shrine hosts a rich program during blossom season: night cherry blossom viewing (夜桜詣, March 26–31) when the Shinmon gate opens for evening visitors, dedicated Noh theater under the blossoms (April 6–7), a sumo wrestling dedication (April 13), traditional performing arts (March 29), and food trucks from mid-March through early April.

The reference tree is near the main shrine hall — ask staff to point it out.

Night yozakura (March 26–31) is the most atmospheric time to visit.
夜桜詣（3/26～31）が最も雰囲気があります。
Pair with Chidorigafuchi, which is a short walk away.
徒歩圏内の千鳥ヶ淵と組み合わせるのがおすすめ。
